Reason:

I chose the 12 yo because I like the flavours that I can taste in scotch, such as the rich fruit flavours and its fragrant and aromatic citrus elements.

Berry Special

Build:
30ml Glenfiddich 12 yo special Reserve
15ml Gabriel Boudier crème de mures
15ml Rosso Antico
15ml Lavender syrup
One small piece of treated pine wood

Method:

Add all ingredients in to a Boston glass, add ice the stir for ten seconds

Then Take a small piece of pine wood and light it for a bit then put it out and put the martini glass over it and let the glass take in the smoke.

Finally strain the cocktail into the pine smoked martini glass and garnish with a lavender sprig.

The reason I chose to use these ingredients is that I think crème de mures accentuates the rich fruit flavours in the 12 yo and the lavender complements its fragrant aromatic smell and taste.

I also think by smoking the martini glass with the pine it goes well with the hint of pine that you find in the Glenfiddich 12 yo Special Reserve.
