What is the name of Your Glenfiddich Signature Cocktail?
Hogmanay Harmony
Tell us about your Signature Cocktail & Why you designed it?
My signature serve has been inspired by the traditional Scottish cake the 'Black Bun', which is customarily given as a gift alongside at Hogmanay (the Scottish New Years Eve Celebration). When designing a cocktail I often refer to traditional recipes from the subject spirits homeland and when reading up on the Black Bun I noticed that it shared many of the same ingredients as the flavor characteristics as the Glenfiddich 15yr Solera, such as vanilla and sweet spices. This provided a great basis to showcase the Glenfiddich 15yr Solera Single Malt Whisky
Who do you envisage Drinking your Signature Cocktail?
I would love to see a sultry brunette in a long black dress at the end of bar to drink my signature serve, but more realistically anyone just venturing in to the world of scotch whisky as it's subtle, harmonious tipple.
How long have you been in the bar industry?
I have been bartending now for about 4 years but only 2 of that professionally.
What do you have that makes you Untouchable?
I think being young in the industry allows me to more open-minded to ideas and then push the boundaries once I have been equipped with knowledge.
What is your best advice for younger players?
This may be ironic being fairly fresh-faced myself but so far a hunger for knowledge and by listening to all those who have a contribution to make, good or bad.
If you could pick any Glenfiddich variant to take with you on the plane to Scotland if you win, which one would it be?
I would have to say the Glenfiddich Gran Reserva 21yr old because the ageing of a great whisky in rum barrels combines my two favourite spirits.
And who would you most like to sit next to and share it with?
I would have to say my brother because we'd make sure we finish the bottle before the halfway mark of the flight.
